They may prescribe medicinal drugs in the hope of controlling panic attacks but using these drugs would only alleviate the symptoms and not cure the illness.  In addition, medication can cause harmful side effects such as drug dependence and damage to internal organs.

In order to truly overcome panic attacks, you must see how your self-image really looks like.  If you feel anxious about certain situations, that means you may have a past experience or a belief inculcated in you that have affected you to be anxious towards the situation in the first.  And in order to change your distorted self-image, you must come to terms with your past by learning from them and letting them go.  And once you have an adequate, realistic self-image, then, that would be the time for you to be truly anxiety free.
